So today we were practising our roto shots when our supervisor asked us to do some denoises in the afternoon and showed us how to render. So with denoises you get the shot you are using in to the node graph. Then, you use a node called a denoise and attack the source to the shot. You put the the viewer node and put 1 on the shot and the 2nd one on the denoise. You click on the denoise but you have got to make sure you are in the right frame otherwise it won’t work. You click progressive once it loads up and click auto profile and it should be fine as long as it’s over 70%. Sometimes that doesn’t work so you have to go through different parts of the shot or different frame to get a higher percentage. Once that is done you look at the shot between the two viewers to make sure it worked and if it did then you would use a write node next if it didn’t then you would redo it until it does. Using a write node we are able to render locally. So we would make sure we are using the right folder and most of the time you would have to write out new folders to put it in. So you would write what shot it was and then put denoise at the end for the new folder and then put another folder into with the correct resolution. Then, you would write what shot it was with the correct denoise and save so that it would know where it would be rendered. That way when we did render it wouldn’t go into a different folder. We would then click on the render in the write node and render locally. with this we would wait a couple minutes til it was rendered and once it was done we we use a read node to see the new rendered denoise shot and have a look to make sure there were no missing frames or anything like that. Then, we would copy the path file for that shot and send it over to our supervisor Ben to have a look at to make sure we did it properly.
