So today was the first day of learning about coding. So we learnt that VM means virtual machine. That's a power shell is useless so don't use it. A shell is a means of inputs of command and the commands are changed into binary code. Windows is because it uses gooeys. This is because it's easy to make mistakes like moving files into other files accidentally. This is especially bad for VFX companies as they need version controls. PWD means print working directive. This tells you where you are. CD means to change directions. When writing commands it's important that your write it out correctly and use the full path to make sure the command works. If you press tab it will autocorrect the path for you. For the afternoon we had a Linux server where we practiced commands. We got our own usernames and passwords and connected onto the server.
