So today I was late because my train got cancelled so I had to catch up on this morning. But we are learning about blink scripts in nuke. Roto with a card - you can use a volume instead. You can get a hold out matte created by a cube. Tracker on a C stand and copy the translation on a cube. Add filmat and change alpha to 1 on side - attach to image of the cube and render. Now you have a hold out cube - white. You can also transform cube A.K.A transform geo and make it bigger. This means you are blocking a whole area instead on a card which is a flat surface. Great for rig removal using cubes and volume. Filmat 0 = colour 1 = alpha. Also works with cylinders. Scanline, copy alpha, invert, premult. Flares - luma key the right areas convolve them with a picture of a flare. Put a luma key on plate to see (alpha). The hot whites - premult - reformat - make square to FFT. Convoluving highlights to get flared image. Multiply the plate in frequency space with the image of a flare in frequency space and you are convoluving to get an image. We invert then boost it, merge plus not over as we don't comp flares over. It's parasitic light as always add flares. Add - mult - over (premultiplied image over another) - may need screen only for combining mattes. Input has to be between 0 and 1 or no HDR or latlongs otherwise it'll go crazy. Reformat again so it matches OG plate. Blink scripts - Roy has compiled C++ tools. He has gizmos you can bust open like addlitive - U transportable. C++ only complilied with particular compiler for one thing - it's particular to that system/operation. Blink scripts make C++ more portable. Luma Key - alpha - then first highlights.
